HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT LASHES FOR YOUR EYE SHAPE?
ALMOND EYES:
WHAT ARE ALMOND EYES?
You know you have an Almond shape eye if the iris of your eyes touches white on both the bottom and the top, you see a visible crease when you’re looking at your lids, your eye shape tapers to a point by the outer eye and the tear duct.
Almond-shaped eyes are longer in width and have smaller eyelids
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUIT THESE TYPE OF EYES?
Almond eyes suits a full set of dramatic lashes quite well. Almond eyes also look great with a variety of lash types though, which means you have many options to choose from. This shape does really well with a cat eye look ( which means longer lashes on the outer side of the eye and then dropping in length closer to the inside of the eye.
Dramatic lashes (mega volumes and Kim K lashes) suit this eye shape well. If you don’t like full lashes, you can still get an amazing more natural look with light to medium volume lash extensions. Classics and hybrids also suite this eye shape very well.
CLOSE SET EYES:
WHAT ARE PROTRUDING EYES?
Individuals with protruding eyes have a round eye shape, making them look very wide. It can make you look wide awake, but sometimes it makes one look shocked. If your lashes are short, having your eyes sitting far out on your face further highlights that.
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUITE THESE TYPE OF EYES?
Because protruding eyes are large and round already, you do not need to go for open eye styles. A natural B or C curl lash is recoommended. The cat eye look is also a perfect option for this eye shape to elongate the eye rather than opening it further. D curls are not really recommened in this case.
To enhance projecting eyes, Kim K lashes or hybrids would be a great fit. Allowing your lashes to take away from your natural eye shape is not a good idea. One wants to draw attention to ones beautiful features without overpowering them.
CLOSE SET EYES:
WHAT ARE CLOSE-SET EYES?
Are eyes that are quite close to each other with a small gap between the eyes.
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUIT THESE TYPE OF EYES?
If you have upturned or close-set eyes, choose cat-eye lashes. Cat-eye lashes draw attention to your eyes’ outer corners. The term “cat-eye” refers to false lashes that are thicker and more prominent on the edges and significantly thinner in the middle. With lashes that curve out toward the outer corners, both close-set and raised eyes look wonderful.
If you have a close-set eye, avoid lashes that are very lengthy in the middle, as they aren’t very attractive for this eye shape and can make your eyes appear smaller.
PROTRUDING EYES:

DOWN TURNED EYES:
WHAT ARE DOWNTURNED EYES?
Downturned eyes have a slight dropping on the outer corners. This is the perfect eye shape for creating a sexy cat's eye look
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUIT THESE TYPE OF EYES?
D curls on the outer corners should be used to complement downturned eyes. Lift your outer corners to create a cat-eye effect.
To create a lifting look, clients can go for Kim K lashes, Hybrids and mega volumes. To create the cat eye look and to have more volume on the outer corners of the eyes, a fuller look is recommended. But light volumes can also look good, longer lashes should just be put on the outer corners, a D curl would be recommended to lift the eyes.
WIDE SET EYES:
WHAT ARE WIDE SET EYES?
Wide set eyes/ far apart eyes refer to eyes that are almost an eyeball apart. These eye types are positioned further apart than other types. These eye types tend to make someone appear more youthful and much more open in appearance.
If you are not sure whether you have wide set eyes, have a look in the mirror and check the space across the bridge of your nose and estimate the width from there to the inside corner of your eye. If it takes up more than the width of one of your eyes, then more than likely you have wide set eyes.
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUIT THESE TYPE OF EYES?
Choose lashes that have a similar length from the middle of the lash to the outer corner which is known as the natural look or a doll eye look .
As much as we all love the cat eye look, these are not the best lashes for wide set eyes. Lashes are positioned at an outward angle, that will give a widening effect to the gap between wide set eyes. This style would draw attention closer to the outer corners of the eyes, making them appear even further apart.
Choose a more natural curl. In most cases, you will have prominent eyes. It is unlikely to have hooded eyes that are also wide set. For wide- set eyes it is recommended to go for a B or a C curl to make sure less focus is brought to the eyes being further apart.
You can go for Kim K lashes, Hybrids, Light volumes as well as Mega volumes.
HOODED EYES:
WHAT ARE HOODED EYES?
If the skin below your brow touches your lash line or comes close to it, you may have hooded eyes. Hooded eyes tend to sink in deeply. You will not see a big eyelid space a crease would rather be seen.
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUIT THESE TYPE OF EYES?
If you have hooded eyes, go for longer lashes. Choose lashes that will make your eyes appear larger rather than smaller. An open eye look, with extra length in the centre of your lash line, just over your pupil is a perfect fit to make your eyes appear more open.
UPTURNED EYES:
WHAT ARE UPTURNED EYES?
Upturned eyes are when the outer corners of the eyes are higher than the inner corners. Individuals with these shaped eyes tend to look brighter and more alert. On the other hand, it does give the impression that the person is a little bit more serious and is not as friendly.
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUIT THESE TYPE OF EYES?
These eye shapes do well with an open eye look with a bit more length. Adding more volume to the centre of your eyes, will focus the attention to the fact that you have 'open eyes' and long lashes, not the lifted sides of your eyes.
Upturned eyes can also look good with Cate eye lashes, drawing the attention to the outer sides of the eye, and a C curl would bring the outer side of the lashes down a bit so they are not so high up.
C curl lashes would be recommended especially on the outer sides of the eyes, so that the eye is not even more lifted at the outer sides of the eyes. If you want to be a bit different, consider adding a coloured extension at the ends to add warmth to this cool eye shape.
ROUND EYES:
WHAT ARE ROUNDED EYES?
Ladies with round eyes tend to have more of their pupil visible. People with round eyes, eyes tend to look bigger than usual and give the impression that they are more alert. They are thus seen to be relatively less delicate or gentle.
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUIT THESE TYPE OF EYES?
To taper off the roundness and have less focus on your round eye shape a cat eye extensions that drag the eyes up and out would be recommended. It lengthens the round eyes and makes them look more almond-shaped and in turn gives a more sultry look.
a Natural Lash Extension shape which has a consistent length along the eyelid to brighten the eye. Going for a longer length will make it more obvious without being too over the top. Using a CC or L curl will open up the eyes even more.
The recommended lash extension is once again the Cat Eye look, to lift the outer of the eye visually. Longer lashes are put on the outer corner and shorter on the inner corner. This reduces the appearance of the 3 of Round eyes and creates a more almond-shaped look eye that is considered more attractive.
MONOLIDS:
WHAT ARE MONOLID EYES?
A monolid is an eyelid shape that doesn’t have a crease. An eye without a crease is typically known as a double eyelid. This feature is typically a facial feature of East Asian people.
WHICH TYPE OF LASHES SUIT THESE TYPE OF EYES?
Natural monolid lashes aren’t curled or curved by nature. With this in mind, rather go for a type of lash that is very curled such as a D curl or DD curl. It is also recommended to not really go for a very dramatic look, it will make the eyes look heavy.
A cross between the natural and open eye styles, the Doll Eye is characterized by length right across the eyeline with the longest lashes being focused on the middle of the eye. This helps to lift the middle part of the eye and make it appear larger while balancing the outer corner of the eye to give the illusion that it is at a similar height to the inner corner.
We would probably recommend the open eye style. Longer length in the middle will emphasize the eye and make it appear rounder and bigger. However, not too many lashes are recommended as it can weigh down the existing lashes and make the eyes look even smaller. For this eye shape fewer lashes with a stronger curl are recommended that emphasize the middle of the eye.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT LOOK FOR YOUR EYE?
WHAT ARE DOLL EYE EYELASH EXTENSIONS AND WHO ARE THEY BEST SUITED FOR?
Doll eyelash extensions are very popular amongst the different styles available today and offer a classical look for your eyes. Doll eyes are a variation of the open-eye look, and are characterized by long lashes that begin in the middle of the eye and gradually lengthen to the outer end.
This style is best suited for customers with large, round eyes. This look makes ones eyes appear more defined. They can also make your eyes look closer to each other.
The doll look is very versatile and flattering for most face shapes, but is not as dramatic as other types. The doll eye style is a variation of the open eye look. It involves focusing longer eyelashes on the outer corners and short lash lengths in the middle.
This style works well on round faces and is a great way to add a bit of sex appeal to your look. The open eye is best suited for hooded eyes, but it can also work well with almond eyes. The ‘doll eye’ look also gives the illusion of longer eyelashes.
This look is very suitable for young clients, who are more likely to have wide-set eyes. Doll eyelash extensions may not be appropriate for clients who have bulging or almond-shaped eyes. This look would not be recommended for clients who have small or down-turned outer corners.
Although this technique is quite common, not all customers will look great with this look. The traditional style is very natural-looking and is best suited for customers with wide eyes. Doll eyelashes are most popular among celebrities and are commonly used by makeup artists to create a dramatic look.
WHAT ARE CAT EYE EYELASH EXTENSIONS AND WHO ARE THEY BEST SUITED FOR?
A cat eye elongates the outer corner of the eyes and makes them appear more winged and looking more like an almond shaped eye.
Depending on the style you choose, you can use a cat eye to create a dramatic look. With this style, longer lashes are put on the outer corners of the eyes and then the lashes become shorter as you move to the inner part of the eye.
A cat-eye style gives the appearance of fuller, bigger eyes, but doesn’t give the illusion of thicker lashes. A cat-eye style emphasizes the length of the eye. It also makes the eye look bigger. The cat eye style uses the outer corners of the eye to give the eyes a more exotic look.
WHAT ARE OPEN EYELASH EXTENSIONS AND WHO ARE THEY BEST SUITED FOR?
Open eyes are a popular choice for women with monolid hooded eyes because they draw attention to the centre of the eyes and create an illusion of length and volume.
The open-eye style uses the longest eyelashes to enlarge the eyes. Long lashes are positioned in the centre and are short outside the eyes. The doll eye style is perfect for a person with a round face.
The open eye is best suited for hooded eyes, but it can also work well with almond eyes.

SUBTLE CURLS:
B CURLS:
B curl lash extensions will give the straight natural lashes a bit more lift than a J curl. B curl lashes have a bit more curl than J curls, but they are still an excellent option for clients with straight lashes that point straight or upward. Also, the B curl is an excellent option for inner corner lashes.
These lashes offer a soft curl, a standard for a naturally enhanced lash appearance with excellent retention.
C CURLS:
C curl lashes are intended for clients with a slight curl in their natural lash and will create an open eye effect. C curl is one of the most popular curls worldwide. If C curl is used for clients with slightly downward angled lashes, it will give a satisfying lash lift. If used for clients with close-to-horizontal angle lashes, it will provide a fabulous doll eye effect and has excellent retention.
MORE DRAMATIC CURLS:
CC & D & DD CURLS:
For clients with heavily downward-angled lashes, we recommend using D curl instead of C curls or B curls.
D curl lashes are very similar to C curl lash extensions, just curlier. They are especially effective for clients with downward-angled lashes who want a show-stopping look. These lashes will brighten and widen the eye and give a noticeable curled effect.
Because of its dramatic upward curl, if used for clients with upward-angle natural lashes or with heavily hooded eyelids, the extensions may prick the client's eyelids. For that reason, D curl is more suitable for clients with downward-angle natural lashes.
It's one of the curlier curls, and if not applied correctly, retention may not be as great as the straight curls, but it adds drama and opens the eye more, making it excellent for downward-angled lashes.
